About the role
Assures quality products by conducting receiving inspections, first article, and in process inspections; evaluating finished product by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities
- Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
- Selects products for tests at specified stages in production process, and test products for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical characteristics.
- Documents finished product status by recording and summarizing raw materials, in-process, and finished-product inspection and physical test data; updates quality data base.
- Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Ability to use inspection tools such as calipers, scales, micrometer, height gauges, and flat surfaces.
- Proficient user of computer and Microsoft Office software.
- Ability to pass a vision test.
- Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 1-2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience, FARO Arm experience. CMM and, Polyworks experience is a plus.
Skills
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Customer Orientation: Must demonstrate concern and take actions to meet requirements and high standards of quality of both internal and external customers.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Typical manufacturing environment.
