Assures product quality of bottles by inspecting the finished product for defects using automated equipment, visual inspection, and customer requirements.
Responsibilities
- Provide visual, aesthetic, and quantifiable inspection of product
- Ensure product meets or exceeds customer’s specifications
- Ensure line changes are performed according to specifications
- Perform SOR qualifications
- Maintain the Food Safety Program (GMP)
- Report any deviations from requirements, safety concerns, or potential nonconforming situations to management
- Shut down equipment that presents a safety hazard
- Initiate AVO and/or begin the nonconforming product process by containing and identifying product for reselection
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Manual dexterity to quickly move hands, grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects
- Ability to arrange things or actions in a specific order or pattern (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, mathematical operations)
- Near vision to see details at close range
- Extent flexibility to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs
- Wrist-finger speed to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists
- Multilimbed coordination to coordinate two or more limbs while sitting, standing, or lying down
- Ability to lift 30 pounds overhead to a total height of six feet
- Ability to walk and/or stand for 12 hours per day
- Knowledge of quality procedures and ability to discern quality defects
- Knowledge of plastic bottle defect requirements and quality procedures
- Previous experience using laboratory equipment
- Ability to work effectively on a cross-functional team
PPE Required
- Proper hearing protection
- Safety glasses (prescription if required)
- Steel-toed shoes
- Hairnet
- Beard net (if employee has chin hair greater than 1/8 inch)
Schedule
- 12-hour schedule
- Rotating schedule: two days on, two days off, three days on, two days off, etc.
- Flexibility for occasional overtime and call-in work required

Organization Relationships
- Report directly to Quality Manager for scheduling, performance evaluation, and compensation assessment
- Indirectly report to Shift Supervisor for product requirements, quality requirements, and overall departmental goals
