Quality Engineer – Wintel & Cloud Infrastructure

About the role

This position is for a Quality Engineer focused on Wintel server operating systems, configurations, and VMWare virtualization technology within cloud computing environments. The role involves performing virtual testing lab support, maintenance, and technical requirements analysis for testing and automation development. This is a hybrid role requiring three days onsite per week.

Responsibilities

• Develop and plan testing conditions, models, scripts, and data sets during the Service Design stage.
• Ensure adequate access is in place for successful testing.
• Perform defect management throughout the testing process.
• Evaluate results against exit criteria and prepare summary reports.
• Provide support and maintenance for the virtual testing lab.
• Analyze technical requirements for testing and test automation objectives.
• Drive process improvement based on lessons-learned analysis.

Requirements

• Expertise in Wintel OS server administration.
• Knowledge of Python, JSON, PowerShell, Ansible, and other scripting tools.
• Working knowledge of cloud virtualization technologies, including orchestration and workflow virtualization.
• Experience with service validation, testing processes, Agile methodology, and JIRA.
• Proficiency in Windows OS, Microsoft Office, and collaboration tools such as Outlook, Teams, OneNote, and Excel.

Additional Skills

• Strong communication and documentation skills are required.
• The ability to understand customer requirements and expectations is essential.

Preferred Qualifications

• Competence in DevOps CI/CD software development model workflow.
• Working knowledge of industry-standard test management tools like Octane and related test automation enablers.
• Strong prioritization, problem-solving, and team contribution skills, with the ability to work independently.
• An analytical and curious mindset with the motivation to think beyond the obvious.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
