Quality Engineer - Test Automation (Playwright)
About The Role
As a Quality Engineer - Test Automation (Playwright), you will make an impact by ensuring high-quality, reliable, and scalable forms and publishing applications through robust test automation and Agile quality practices. You will be a valued member of the Agile delivery team and work collaboratively with Product Owners, Developers, Business Analysts, and vendor partners to drive quality and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Champion quality across Agile teams by promoting best practices, continuous improvement, and an automation-first mindset
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks using Playwright and TypeScript for UI, API, and regression testing
- Perform end-to-end quality assurance for forms/publishing applications, ensuring performance, reliability, and seamless user experience
- Collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders to review requirements, identify risks, gaps, and edge cases early in the lifecycle
- Partner with cross-functional and vendor teams to validate deliverables and ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory guidelines
Requirements
- Hands-on experience as an SDET with Playwright or Cypress for test automation
- Experience with OpenText Exstream (Xpression) testing for forms and document solutions
- Familiarity with batch processing, workflows, and output validation
- Experience with test management and defect tracking tools
- Exposure to AI-driven QA practices (e.g., intelligent test generation, predictive defect analysis, self-healing scripts)
- Ability to work in AI-first delivery environments
Qualifications
- Experience leveraging tools such as GitHub Copilot to improve automation productivity and code quality
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum practices with active participation in ceremonies
- Experience working with vendor teams and managing quality deliverables
- Domain knowledge in Insurance and understanding of regulatory/compliance requirements
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across cross-functional teams

Pay
The annual salary for this position is between $53,477– $92,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
Schedule
This is an onsite position requiring 5 days a week in a Cognizant or client office in Hartford, CT. The working arrangements for this role are accurate as of the date of posting. This may change based on the project you’re engaged in, as well as business and client requirements.
