Quality Engineer (QRE)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Receives customer concern from customer, issues quality alert, other documentation to internal departments.
• Places quality alert on QRQC boards
• Collections sort / certification and short term countermeasure information - inputs to customer portal
• Logs customer concerns to database / logs in a timely manner
• Collects investigation information from QRQC, develops reports
• Sends final report to customer portal by due date
• Confirms that all documentation is updated and filed per IATF requirements
• Adds additional information from customers as required
• Requests defect parts back from customers in a timely manner, reviews parts and processes them per TG procedure
• Maintains progress of issues in customer portals
• Develops improvement ideas (kaizen) to improve efficiency of the department
• Supports IATF audit of customer complaints
• Maintain awareness and understand the roles and responsibilities regarding the environmental policies, management system, and objectives and targets by attending the required training. Perform all tasks in accordance with the EMS procedures and practices and minimize the impact of their activities on the environment.
• Negotiates customer concerns and PPM disputes

QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to develop good working relationships with customers
• Ability to problem solve - 5 why, 8-D, etc.
• Willing to travel up to 20% of time (domestic and international)
• Ability to read blue prints / drawings and technical specifications
• TS 16949 experience a plus
• Trained TS 16949 internal auditor
• Advanced statistical training
• Advanced problem solving skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• BS degree in engineering or technical-related discipline or 2-3 years’ experience in Quality or Engineering in a manufacturing environment

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED WORK HOURS

• Full-time position
• Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Occasional overtime throughout the week and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
