About the role
This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which includes Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. It involves supporting the design, test, and manufacture of launch vehicles, spacecraft, and related technologies.
Responsibilities
- Lead vehicle acceptance reviews and ensure adherence to and health of acceptance process
- New Product Introduction - introduce new research products into the production value stream
- Participate in engineering design reviews and make recommendations to improve the quality and manufacturability of new designs
- Measure, analyze, and improve quality system performance consistent with organization quality goals
- Establish, implement, maintain, and enforce quality system processes that support products in development and production environments
- Review and approve manufacturing build documents including work orders and nonconformance records
- Perform periodic audits of the application of our quality system in accordance with AS9100
- Recommend and improve initiatives and/or changes that will improve product and system quality
- Provide quality assurance domain expertise to inspection, manufacturing and test
- Collaborate with internal and external customers on quality related concerns; develop and present training materials to build quality awareness
Requirements
- Minimum of a B.S. in engineering/science or American Society of Quality, Certified Quality Engineer certification or equivalent experience (3+ years as a quality engineer)
- 6+ years’ industry experience with at least 2 years in a quality engineer role
- Quality experience in research, development and production environments
- Aerospace, space launch, or military or commercial aviation preferred
- Knowledge of AS9100 or ISO9000 Quality Management System and/or related quality systems and programs
- Experience with Root Cause Corrective Actions, Process Improvements, and/or Kaizens
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Pay
For WA applicants is $112,059.00 - $156,882.60
