Primary Responsibilities
- Support and continuously improve the Sub-Zero Quality System by facilitating continuous product and process improvements.
- Exceed the expectations of those we serve by providing high quality, innovative, value-added, luxury appliance products and services.
- Leading a team of quality technicians – training, developing, ensuring the team has all the tools and direction to be successful.
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) leading measurement and data-driven decision-making for the team – (Measure link, Minitab).
- Identify trends, determine root cause, and develop corrective actions.
- Leading & facilitating process improvement methods (LEAN).
- Daily review of key quality indicators to drive change at a preventative level with communication to the team.
- Develop quality roadmap – research, recommend, and implement new equipment, tools, training that improves product quality, consistency, and performance.
- Continually develop quality system requirements for new or revised products, and manufacturing processes.
- Daily reporting to all levels of the organization up to executive level.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field, or a bachelor’s or associate degree with equivalent quality engineering experience and increasing responsibility.
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or quality engineering.
- Experience applying advanced statistical methods in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in common Lean or DMAIC problem-solving tools.
- Familiarity with measurement practices and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) tools.
- Ability to collaborate across teams to solve problems and improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
Preferred Qualifications
- ASQ certification such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), or a related credential.
- Experience leading teams and coaching direct reports.
- Knowledge of SolidWorks and gauge/fixture design.
- Experience with ANOVA, regression analysis, Six Sigma concepts, and related methods.
- Familiarity with GD&T, measurement practices, and APQP tools such as PPAP, dFMEA, pFMEA, MSA, SPC, capability studies, and control plans.
- Understanding of ISO, IATF, and AS quality management standards, including internal auditing experience.
- Proven project management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
