Quality Engineer I - Civil

Summary

Mortenson is seeking a Quality Engineer I responsible for quality control processes on projects, potentially collaborating with senior managers, and managing project quality performance.

Responsibilities

- Foster strong teamwork and promote diversity - Build and maintain cross-cultural relationships and influence others - Serve as a technical resource and guide for project team staff - Implement and monitor the Quality Management Plan - Conduct quality inspections and identify non-conformances - Manage Non-Conformance Notices (NCN) and RFI processes - Train and manage project personnel on roles and responsibilities - Resolve technical issues with customers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors - Share best practices and identify opportunities to enhance margin or minimize risk

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience - Minimum one year of experience in design, engineering, or construction industry - Current driver’s license - Ability to conduct constructability reviews, quality reviews, shop drawing reviews, and submittal reviews - Knowledge of design-bid-build process - Good mechanical aptitude and knowledge in large cranes, mechanical systems, and utility-based electrical systems - Self-starter, independent worker, and proficient in computers - Strong teamwork orientation - Basic knowledge of construction processes, systems, and project management - Excellent listening and communication skills

Pay Range

The base pay range for this role is $76,600 MIN - $95,800 MAX. Actual range varies based on location (Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).
