About the role
Hitchiner Manufacturing Co., Inc. is seeking a Quality Engineer I to join our dynamic team. This position will play a crucial role in ensuring product quality and compliance, reducing waste, and enhancing process capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Perform inspections, review documentation, and support internal and supplier audits to strengthen product quality and compliance.
- Identify root causes of scrap, rework, and process variation, and recommend improvements to processes, equipment, or product designs.
- Support new product and process introduction through APQP activities, drawing and specification reviews, first-article evaluations, and PPAP documentation.
- Conduct capability studies, Measurement System Analysis, and evaluate first-article results to improve measurement and inspection systems.
- Collaborate with suppliers to resolve material issues and ensure effective corrective actions.
- Maintain alignment with ISO 9001, ISO/TS16949, and AS9100 standards through internal audits, documentation control, and continuous improvement activities.
- Prepare reports and data visualizations to support operational decisions and conduct industrial engineering work such as equipment evaluations, time studies, and method analysis.
- Contribute to team development, uphold safety, quality, and ethical standards, and maintain an organized work environment.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in quality or manufacturing engineering, or equivalent knowledge gained through internships or co-ops.
- Familiarity with quality or manufacturing engineering concepts.
- Ability to communicate clearly and stay organized.
- Comfortable using MS Office and statistical or modeling tools.
- Meets required vision standards (20/20 in one eye and color perception per J1).
