Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance processes specific to battery pack assembly and testing.
- Perform in-line inspections, process audits, and product testing to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
- Analyze data from production and testing to identify trends, defects, and areas for improvement.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for quality issues detected during production or post-production.
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure incoming components meet quality standards.
- Support validation and qualification of new battery pack designs and manufacturing processes.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations (e.g., UL, IEC, ISO standards) and customer requirements.
- Document and maintain quality records, inspection reports, and quality control plans.
- Provide training and guidance to production personnel on quality standards and procedures.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen to enhance product quality and process efficiency.
- Coordinate with the safety and reliability engineering teams to assess battery pack performance and durability.
- Support internal and external audits related to quality and manufacturing processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related technical field.
- Proven experience (3+ years) in quality engineering within battery pack manufacturing or related industries (e.g., electronics, automotive).
- Strong understanding of battery technologies, pack assembly processes, and safety standards.
- Proficiency with quality management systems (QMS) such as ISO 9001.
- Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC), root cause analysis tools (e.g., 8D, Fishbone), and quality improvement methodologies.
- Experience with test equipment and data acquisition systems used in battery production.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of Arbin cyclers, Amada welding machines, or similar battery testing and assembly equipment is a plus.
Preferred Skills
- Certification in Quality Engineering (CQE) or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt.
- Experience with battery cell screening, aging, and cycling.
- Familiarity with software tools such as Minitab, JMP, or similar statistical analysis programs.
