About the role
Our client is seeking a Quality Engineer to join its Solutions Team, supporting new product development from initial feasibility through prototype validation, customer approval, and successful production launch. Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customer quality representatives
- Serve as the primary contact for customer quality topics during development and project execution
- Interpret and implement customer-specific quality standards (such as ZF QR83 and similar requirements)
- Cook up and coordinate customer quality audits
- Support customer issue resolution through production handoff
- Prepare customer-required quality documentation
- Support Product Engineering during feasibility studies
- Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Supplier Quality, and other internal teams
- Pivot and partner with business units across the global organization
- Support quality planning during prototype and new product development
- Aid in product cost optimization while maintaining quality standards
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Develop and maintain control plans
- Create inspection sheets, process flow charts, capability studies, measurement reports, inspection reports, and customer quality documentation
- Review and approve supplier samples
- Support APQP and PPAP activities
- Conduct internal process audits
- Participate in supplier audits
- Identify process and product risks
- Develop preventive actions and safety recommendations
- Aid in implementing safety-related requirements
- Apply and support industry-standard Automotive Core Tools, including: APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, MSA, and SPC
Requirements
- Associates degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical discipline
- 4+ years of professional Quality Engineering experience
- Strong understanding of manufacturing quality systems
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical discipline
- Experience within an automotive supplier or precision manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of customer-specific quality systems and standards
- Experience with APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, MSA, and SPC
- Familiarity with control plans, capability studies, audits, and quality documentation
- Familiarity with CAQ systems
