Primary Skills And Responsibilities
- Create, test, and maintain inspection programs for CMM machines.
- Understand CNC programming, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and quality inspection processes.
- Operate and program CMM machines (Manual and DCC).
- Participate in APQP process for gage and fixture design.
- Develop quick change processes for CMMs.
- Perform quality inspection checks including first piece, hourly, final, and backward recall on non-conforming product.
- Implement non-conforming product hold tags.
- Maintain gauge calibration and Gage R&R.
- Avoid accidents by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and troubleshoot malfunctions.
- Communicate with other departments to support quality and production initiatives.
- Lead teams to support continuous improvement efforts in Building 1 and 2 (5S, internal audits, organizational knowledge).
- Document testing and root cause analysis for internal or external problems.
- Create work instructions and provide feedback on manufacturing issues.
- Address manufacturing issues through collaboration with Quality Management and Manufacturing Engineering.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience.
- Knowledge of GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing).
- Participation in continued education courses as required for new projects and career growth within XL (TQM/CQT/CQE).
- Ability to use CMM software.
- Ability to mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, and fixtures.
