Purpose of Position
The Quality Engineer ensures that the products or services produced by Trillium Engineering meet applicable customer, regulatory, and internal requirements.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement quality plans for products and parts.
- Work closely with production to identify quality issues and implement actions to correct and/or prevent defects.
- Perform inspections and audits to ensure that products and services meet applicable customer, regulatory, and internal requirements.
- Collect and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on quality plans and processes.
- Investigate customer complaints and work with internal teams and suppliers as necessary to implement appropriate corrective actions.
- Lead investigations into quality issues and deviations, utilizing root cause analysis techniques (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone) to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Participate in developing and implementing new products to ensure that quality plans are developed and implemented at appropriate stages of the product lifecycle.
- Ensure that supplier products and services meet all applicable requirements.
- Maintain records of quality assurance and control activities and provide reports to management as requested.
- Support the development, deployment, and continuous improvement of the Trillium Engineering Management System.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- 3 years of quality engineering and/or management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Travel locations as needed, not intended to exceed 10% on average.
- CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) from an accredited certification program, preferred.
- ISO9001 Certified Lead Auditor, preferred.
- Experience with quality systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with root cause analysis and problem-solving methods.
- Experience in attaining and maintaining ISO9001 and/or AS9100 quality certifications.
Physical Demands
- Physically able to lift up to 20 pounds (materials/equipment).
- Effective use of computer, laptop, cell phone and other mobile device to exchange information.
