About the role

This position will be based in Wendell, NC. Relocation assistance is available.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a key quality leader during the launch of our new facility, advising on and implementing quality best practices for manufacturing processes, with a strong emphasis on AI and automation integration.
  • Instill and ensure a customer-focused mindset is consistently applied across all stages of our assembly lines.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive Quality Plans specifically tailored for the assembly lines.
  • Lead and ensure comprehensive production quality planning is established and maintained at all stages of the assembly lines. Partner with the business to design quality into takt, flow, and capacity models.
  • Lead and facilitate process risk assessments using methodologies like PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).
  • Develop and implement rigorous quality standards for all stages of the assembly lines.
  • Drive effective Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) processes using methodologies such as 8Ds, A3S, and Ishikawa diagrams.
  • Spearhead initiatives and projects aimed at reducing nonconformances at various stages of the assembly lines.
  • Lead efforts to continuously improve key Quality Performance Indicators (KPIs) across the facility.
  • Conduct and manage audit processes based on ISO standards across different stages of the assembly lines and customer onboarding audits at Siemens.
  • Effectively communicate quality requirements, improvement ideas, and performance data to diverse audiences, including shop floor employees, cross-functional teams, and executive leadership. Serve as the primary quality representative for customers during internal/external audits.
  • Utilize advanced data analysis techniques to monitor quality performance, identify trends, and predict potential issues. Develop and maintain dashboards using tools such as Power BI and Salesforce to deliver clear, actionable insights and regularly produce quality reports for management.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams to successfully perform a Factory Manufacturing Maturity Assessment audit.
  • Own reporting to management and HQ for quality KPI per assembly line.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (e.g., Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing) or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Quality Engineering within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven expertise in implementing and optimizing quality processes utilizing automation.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and mentor multidisciplinary teams without direct authority.
  • In-depth knowledge and practical experience with Root Cause Analysis (8D, A3, Ishikawa) and CAPA processes.
  • Proficiency in process risk assessment methodologies (PFMEA, DFMEA).
  • Experience with tools and systems like SAP, Salesforce, and Power BI.
  • Understanding and experience with ISO standards and auditing processes.
