About the role
We are looking for a Quality Engineer to join our team in New Hope, MN. This role supports the Compact Power Business Unit within Parker’s Hydraulic Actuator Division, with responsibilities at the New Hope site and occasional collaboration with the Blaine, MN site.
Responsibilities
- Support CPBU Quality Management System processes in alignment with ISO 9001:2015, including document control, internal audits, corrective action, supplier quality, nonconforming output control, calibration/measurement systems, and management review inputs.
- Assess quality performance, including cost of quality, supplier performance, customer quality trends, and process capability, using statistical and analytical methods.
- Lead or support systemic root cause analysis, failure analysis, and corrective action activities using objective evidence; verify corrective actions for effectiveness.
- Develop and maintain quality standards, inspection plans, process control documentation, quality procedures, and technical quality plans to support product, process, customer, and contract requirements.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge through training, industry engagement, best-practice benchmarking, ASQ certification activities, and participation in relevant professional associations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience maintaining and improving ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems is desired, including application of risk-based thinking.
- Thorough knowledge of quality engineering, quality assurance, inspection methods, measurement systems, manufacturing processes, and general business operations.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, define problems, establish facts, perform systemic root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and verify effectiveness using objective evidence.
- Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC, control plans, corrective action, supplier quality, internal audits, calibration systems, and nonconforming product control.
- Ability to assess and apply continuous improvement methods, including Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools.
- Ability to use standard business applications and specialized data analysis tools; experience with ERP/MRP, quality management, customer quality, or supplier quality systems preferred.
- Ability to manage projects, establish goals and objectives, and communicate effectively with team members, team leaders, customers, suppliers, and leadership.
- American Society for Quality (ASQ) certification desired; CQE, CQA, Six Sigma, or related quality certification preferred.
