About the role
NABRICO Marine Products, Inc. is seeking a Quality Engineer to join our team based in Ashland City, TN. This role reports to the Director of Quality and plays a critical role in leading quality and operational excellence activities.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership to the organization to help drive a proactive approach leading to improvements in product quality, product design, manufacturing processes, measurement techniques, supplier performance, and customer satisfaction
- Partner with Manufacturing Operations to solve quality and process problems while maintaining manufacturing efficiencies and meeting competitive business deadlines
- Strengthen quality management systems and ensure corporate and individual plant processes are implemented and adequately followed
- Develop and deploy operator work instructions, quality policies and procedures, inspection plans (receiving, First Article, in-process etc.), and associated process controls
- Manage gauge design and development, gauge calibration / validation, measurement systems analysis (GR&R), establish and implement process evaluation tools (process capability) and process monitoring tools (SPC charts) for evaluating system effectiveness and to enable managers to make sound product quality decisions
- Drive continuous improvements in all areas, focusing on key performance indicators
- Aid all plants with the development and deployment of quality policies / procedures, internal quality auditing, and ensuring adherence to company's Quality and Regulatory strategies in accordance with the established strategic plan
- Must be proficient at various methods of problem-solving and process improvement (8D, 5-Why, Kaizen, Process Flow, Control Plan, DFMEA, PFMEA, etc.) to champion problem-solving and root cause analysis activities internally as well as with suppliers and customers to eliminate recurrence of nonconformances
Requirements
- ASQ CQE certification preferred
- Degree in Quality Engineering or equivalent field
- Ledger and Six Sigma experience
- Energetic and strong work ethic
- Experience in leading teams and project management
- Ability to develop strong relationships with customers, suppliers and plant level teams
- Ability to facilitate collaboration and communication with all operational teams as well as support functions worldwide
- Strong presentation skills - both presentation development (PowerPoint) and presentation delivery
- To have strong computer skills with working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Outlook
- Excellent observational, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to bring creative solutions
- Ability to stay disciplined and focused on high priority tasks
- Must possess a passionate, energetic, can-do attitude
