Quality Engineer
About the role
As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will ensure regulatory, company and customer quality assurance requirements and responsibilities. Support and embrace a culture of quality standards that comply with nuclear standards and customer quality requirements. You will report to the Manager of Quality and be located at Ogden, UT. You will support the role 100% onsite.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement quality standards and systems with compliance to QMS and customer specifications
- Lead problem solving through 5-Why, fishbone, pFMEA, Failure Analysis, RCA and ACA analysis
- Lead and employ poke-yoke or mistake-proofing methods, process monitoring technology and procedural methods
- Lead assessments of operations, quality processes and identify opportunities for performance improvement through statistical controls
- Lead, recommend and influence operations to take appropriate corrective actions, resolve quality issues and implement performance improvement
- Lead problem solving using SPC, process management, digital tools, and automation
- Lead, co-ordinate and integrate projects which encompass multi-areas departments to achieve smooth flow and quality of products
- Develop short- and long-term solutions to manufacturing quality and process problems. Implement process monitoring methods to identify when a process is not producing a quality product (COPQ) and develop action plans A3's
- Review customer specifications, design engineering documentation to verify compliance and implementation to assure technical QA requirements
- Improve processes through development of automated systems to improve productivity and ensure customer satisfaction
- Communicate changes in Quality policies and systems through level II and III procedures
- Lead customer audits and technical surveillances
- Lead continuous improvement projects: Kaizens, Process improvement and COPQ reduction/elimination projects
- QA scope review and implementation for major contracts and serve as customer quality interface
- Review and write quality and manufacturing plans, procedures, qualification reports for new and old products and processes
- Integrate Westinghouse plans and procedures with customer requirements into plan operations
- Translate customer/regulatory requirements into test and inspection procedures and instructions
- Certify product and processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- 2 or more years of experience
- Experience applying data analysis to equipment reliability, problem solving and performance improvement
- Knowledge of national consensus standards of quality, ISO, Six Sigma, ANSI/ASME, NQA1 US NRC Regulatory Guide series
Pay
The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $85,200 to $106,500 per year.
