Position Summary

Innovative Aerosystems (IA) is a leading systems integrator that designs and manufactures cost-effective NextGen flight navigation systems and precision flight instrumentation equipment for the aerospace industry. Key Responsibilities

  • Reviews and approves supplier first article inspection results and deviation requests.
  • Reviews and understands design and quality system requirements to ensure suppliers are compliant with purchase orders.
  • Affixes with Purchasing to evaluate prospective suppliers to determine their suitability as long-term business partners. Actively participates in the supplier selection process.
  • Works with Supply Chain to ensure all applicable Quality clauses and customer product quality and system requirements clauses are communicated to suppliers in purchase orders.
  • Maintains supplier performance compared to quality and delivery targets. Works with the supply base to continuously improve. Reports metrics and participates in supplier scorecard evaluations.
  • Oversees Supplier Corrective Actions to ensure timely and thorough response, resulting in continuous improvement.
  • Along with Engineering, works toward speedy resolution of MRB decisions. Strives to eliminate recurrence of MRB issues.
  • Identifies and implements continuous improvement initiatives to improve reliability, process consistency and quality metrics for all departmental operations.
  • Maintains Company training program per AS9100.
  • Provides reliable technical engineering expertise to Quality Assurance and Purchasing personnel as needed. Maintains a high level of knowledge and understanding of relevant customers and regulatory standards.
  • Performs AS9102 FAIR.
  • Performs Internal Audit, Product & Process Audit.
  • Performs all duties in accordance with IA safety policies. Helps ensure the safety of all IA employees and visitors.
  • Performs all duties in accordance with the IA Quality Manual and Code of Conduct Policy.

Required Qualifications

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Strong problem-solving skills are essential to this position. Experience with six sigma, fault tree analysis, APQP, FMEA’s, error-proofing and other, similar techniques preferred.
  • Must have excellent communication skills in English coupled with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Work within the IA facility in Exton, PA.
  • Must be able to travel internationally to facilities in the USA, Europe, Mexico, China and other countries as needed. As the need arises, must be able to travel for training, seminars, supplier visits, and customer visits both inside and outside the country
  • Contribute overtime as required to complete projects in a timely manner and meet customer deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing work environment.
  • Working knowledge in computer sciences to operate in a Windows environment. Must have a general understanding of statistics and databases, especially as they relate to testing requirements and analysis.
  • Strong problem-solving skills are essential to this position. Experience with six sigma, fault tree analysis, APQP, FMEA’s, error-proofing and other, similar techniques preferred.
  • Working knowledge of FAA 14 CFR Part 21 and 14 CFR Part 145 regulations
  • Working knowledge of J-STD-001J and IPC A-610 J
  • Working knowledge of various quality control systems such as, SPC, TQM, ISO9000 / AS9100, etc.
  • Certified AS9100 Internal Auditor
