Responsibilities
- Support maintenance of comprehensive quality system
- Lead and/or participate in activities associated with root cause investigation for product and process defects
- Ensure best practice of new product introduction and process validation
- Coordinate lab testing for verification and validation of raw materials
- Assist in tool design as needed for process inspections
- Perform standard quality engineering tasks, including non-conforming material disposition, non-conforming cost/trend analysis, corrective/preventive action, customer/internal MRB, process improvements, automation of systems, inspection criteria, specification and contract review, and communication to and training of personnel
- Lead, guide, and direct lean implementation and training initiatives, including 6S, TPM, Kaizen, Flow Manufacturing, JIT, Kanban, and Rapid Improvement Workshops
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, or Statistics, or related degree
- Minimum of two (2) years of related experience in production or quality or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong knowledge of quality systems, supplier management, internal audits, and overall troubleshooting or problem-solving capabilities
- Strong leadership and ability to work effectively with engineering, production personnel, and management
- Root cause investigation experience
- Knowledge and/or use of six sigma methods and continuous improvement techniques preferred
- Good math and analytical skills, including a working knowledge of statistical techniques (SPC, SQC, DOE)
- Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read drawings, interpret written procedures and instruction, and ability to understand geometric dimensioning and tolerances (GD&T)
- Knowledge of AS9100/ISO and NADCAP preferred
- Knowledge of using 3D Modeling Software, CATIA is preferred
