Quality Engineer
About the role
The Quality Engineer will support the maintenance of a comprehensive quality system, lead or participate in root cause investigations for product and process defects, ensure best practices for new product introduction and process validation, coordinate lab testing for raw materials, assist in tool design, perform standard quality engineering tasks, and lead lean implementation and training initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Support maintenance of comprehensive quality system.
- Lead and/or participate in activities associated with root cause investigation for product and process defects.
- Ensure best practice of new product introduction and process validation.
- Cook up lab testing for verification and validation of raw materials.
- Aid in tool design as needed for process inspections.
- Perform standard quality engineering tasks, including but not limited to non-conforming material disposition, non-conforming cost/trend analysis, corrective/preventive action, customer/internal MRB, process improvements (including scrap reduction), automation of systems, inspection criteria, specification and contract review, and communication to and training of personnel.
- Lead, guide, and direct lean implementation and training initiatives, including 6S, TPM, Kaizen, Flow Manufacturing, JIT, Kanban, and Rapid Improvement Workshops.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, or Statistics, or related degree is required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of related experience in production or quality or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong knowledge of quality systems, supplier management, internal audits, and overall troubleshooting or problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong leadership and ability to work effectively with engineering, production personnel, and management.
- Root cause investigation experience.
- Knowledge and/or use of six sigma methods and continuous improvement techniques preferred.
- Good math and analytical skills including a working knowledge of statistical techniques (SPC, SQC, DOE).
- Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read drawings, interpret written procedures and instruction and ability to understand geometric dimensioning and tolerances (GD&T).
- Knowledge of AS9100/ISO and NADCAP preferred.
- Knowledge of using 3D Modeling Software, CATIA is preferred.

- U.S. citizen, U.S. national, person lawfully admitted for permanent residence, temporary resident under sections 210(a) or 245(A) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, person admitted in refugee status, or person granted asylum.
