About The Role
We are seeking a Quality Engineer to join our growing manufacturing team in Louisville, KY. This position is responsible for supporting quality initiatives through process analysis, problem-solving, data collection, and continuous improvement efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering foundation and a passion for driving quality improvements, reducing risk, and enhancing manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities
- Perform Quality Engineering activities focused on process improvement, cost reduction, and work simplification.
- Conduct Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) studies to identify and reduce potential process risks.
- Perform Process Capability Studies to evaluate process performance and ensure compliance with engineering specifications.
- Conduct Gage Repeatability & Reproducibility (GR&R) studies, including data collection, analysis, reporting, and implementation of corrective actions.
- Analyze quality concerns and collaborate with engineering, technical, and production teams to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Utilize root cause analysis and structured problem-solving methodologies to resolve manufacturing and quality issues.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, brainstorming sessions, and cross-functional team meetings.
- Support quality system activities under the direction of the Quality/Configuration Engineer and other quality leadership team members.
- Assist with special projects and additional assignments as needed to support company objectives.
- Promote and support the organization's quality policies, mission, and operational goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline required (or currently pursuing a degree).
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Knowledge of quality tools such as PFMEA, Process Capability Studies, GR&R, and Root Cause Analysis.
- Understanding of statistical analysis and quality improvement methodologies.
- ASQ Certification is preferred but not required.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and engineering-related software.
