Quality Engineer

General Duties

• Maintains quality manual and quality procedures
• Prepares material certifications
• Maintains test results for material certifications
• Maintains quality department forms, drawings, customer and industry specifications
• Helps other departments resolve quality problems
• Aids other departments to improve product and process quality and handle quality-related matters
• Recommends specific product and process improvements
• Aids in completing internal audits
• Aids in completing RC/CA
• Makes disposition of customer returns
• Aids in maintaining ISO and AS quality certifications
• Responds to customer requests for non-routine quality projects and information
• Approves and maintains all elements of PPAP
• Approves first articles and maintains first article backlog

Experience Required

• Two years’ experience in a quality, engineering, or operations position

Education Required

• College degree with emphasis in engineering, statistics, mathematics, or business administration.

Special Skills Required

• Knowledge of quality system management requirements
• Very good use of Microsoft Windows and Office programs
• Very good verbal and written communication skills

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to sit at a desk for prolonged periods of time and work on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time
• Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities

Other Requirements

• This position requires the use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR.
