Quality Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Support and maintain compliance with IATF 16949 quality management standards
• Maintain and improve quality processes within heat treating operations
• Lead and support root cause analysis and corrective actions for internal and customer quality issues
• Investigate non-conformances, customer complaints, and internal defects
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, and leadership to implement process improvements
• Conduct audits (internal, customer, and process) and support external audits
• Ensure proper documentation, reporting, and record-keeping of quality-related activities
• Analyze data to identify trends and recommend improvements to reduce scrap, rework, and defects
• Participate in APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and control plan development and maintenance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field (preferred)
• Experience in Heat Treating or Thermal Processing
• Strongly Preferred: Working knowledge of IATF 16949 and automotive quality requirements
• Experience with Quality Tools Such As Root Cause Analysis (5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.), FMEA, Control Plans, SPC
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both hourly employees and leadership
