Quality Engineer
About the role
BAE Systems Electronic Combat Solutions (ECS) is seeking a Quality Engineer to join their team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the quality and reliability of the company's products and systems.
Responsibilities
- Plan, conduct, and report internal audits in accordance with BAE Systems internal command media, program specific requirements and applicable standards including AS9100.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the Quality Management System (QMS) at the program and factory level and identify areas for improvement.
- Support external audits by BAE Systems and perform any necessary follow-up activities.
- Act as Corrective Action / Preventive Action owner, and help ensure Corrective Action / Preventive Action effectiveness.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure timely and effective Corrective Action / Preventive Action.
- Maintain audit schedules, records, and documentation in compliance with internal company requirements.
- Create and maintain audit process tools & resources including but not limited to Teams/SharePoint folder and other related standard process tools.
- Act as a change agent to promote a culture of quality, continuous improvement, and compliance.
- Influence stakeholders across departments to drive quality initiatives and ensure audit readiness.
- Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, to all levels of the organization internally and externally.
- Partner with key stakeholders in the planning and execution of the internal audit process for the Nashua area facilities and programs executed within.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 2-4+ years of experience or 6-8+ years of technical/engineering experience in lieu of degree.
- Experience/knowledge in Quality Assurance in a regulated environment.
- Strong understanding of Corrective Action / Preventive Action processes and root cause analysis methodologies.
- Proactive approach to continuous improvement with a solution-based mindset.
- Interpersonal skills to promote and accomplish constructive solutions to problems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to influence others and lead change initiatives.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and strategic/risk-based thinking.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of daily activities.
- Team-oriented with the ability to build trust and work collaboratively across programs and functions.
Preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in an engineering or technical field.
- Working knowledge in the application of AS9100 and BAE command media.
- Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or equivalent certification.
- Relevant AS9100 training/certification from an organization recognized in industry.
- Advanced user skills in the M365 Office suite including Teams, and SharePoint.
Pay
Full-Time Salary Range: $97008 - $164914
