About the role

AESC is looking to add a Quality Engineer to our team in Murfreesboro, TN. Full-Time On-site.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with quality standards, work instructions, and control plans.
  • Investigate production defects and customer complaints using structured problem-solving methods such as 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Lead corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities and verify effectiveness.
  • Perform statistical analysis using Statistical Process Control (SPC) and process capability studies (Cp/Cpk).
  • Develop, revise, and maintain Process Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (PFMEA), Control Plans, inspection procedures, and quality documentation.
  • Carry out process and product audits to verify compliance with quality management systems and manufacturing standards.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends, process variation, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to improve yield, reduce scrap, and increase process capability.
  • Support new product introduction activities, including process validation and qualification.
  • Evaluate nonconforming materials and determine appropriate disposition.
  • Ensure traceability and documentation requirements are maintained throughout production.
  • Conduct day-to-day functions with minimal guidance; effectively delegate responsibilities and provide core support to cross-functional team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 3+ years of experience in quality engineering.
  • IATF 16949 and/or VDA 6.3 Lead Auditor Certification is preferred.
  • Proven track record of designing, documenting, and implementing robust quality processes within high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with a proven ability to interpret complex data and present it clearly to cross-functional teams and leadership.
  • Highly automated manufacturing operations and advanced process controls.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, hear; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach and lift with hands and arms frequently throughout the day.
  • Occasionally lift, push, pull and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally required to lift, push, pull and/or move up to 35 pounds.

Work Schedule

Work week is a 40-hour minimum Extended hours and overtime are required as needed Must be able to work any shift as required Must be able to work weekends as required
