Quality Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain quality control systems and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
• Conduct internal audits and support external audits as required.
• Oversee and perform inspections of materials, products, and processes to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Develop and implement testing protocols and quality standards.
• Investigate and resolve product quality issues by identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Monitor and report on non-conformance issues and drive continuous improvement efforts.
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure material and component quality meets specifications.
• Conduct supplier audits and assist in supplier development initiatives.
• Lead quality improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization to enhance efficiency and reduce defects.
• Maintain accurate records of quality control processes, audits, and test results.
• Prepare quality reports and present findings to management and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience working as a Quality Engineer.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred.
• Strong understanding of quality systems, 5S methodologies, and tools such as Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing.
• ASQ CQE certification or equivalent experience.
• Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action processes such as 8D, Fishbone, and 5-Why.
• Experience with Measurement System Analysis (MSA) including Gage R&R.
• Experience with Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
• Experience with statistical software such as SQC Pack or Minitab®.
• Good understanding of control plans.
• Continuous Improvement exposure.

Skills

• Preferred Skills:
• ASQ or CQE certification or equivalent experience.
• Proficient in measurement, inspection and testing methods, calibration.
• DOD- familiarity with government contracts.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance in relevant industries (e.g., FDA, AS9100, IATF 16949).
