Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality control systems and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Conduct internal audits and support external audits as required.
- Oversee and perform inspections of materials, products, and processes to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Develop and implement testing protocols and quality standards.
- Investigate and resolve product quality issues by identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Monitor and report on non-conformance issues and drive continuous improvement efforts.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure material and component quality meets specifications.
- Conduct supplier audits and assist in supplier development initiatives.
- Lead quality improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization to enhance efficiency and reduce defects.
- Maintain accurate records of quality control processes, audits, and test results.
- Prepare quality reports and present findings to management and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- 2+ years experience working as a Quality Engineer.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred.
- Strong understanding of quality systems, 5S methodologies, and tools such as Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing.
- ASQ CQE certification or equivalent experience.
- Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action processes such as 8D, Fishbone, and 5-Why.
- Experience with Measurement System Analysis (MSA) including Gage R&R.
- Experience with Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
- Experience with statistical software such as SQC Pack or Minitab®.
- Good understanding of control plans.
- Continuous Improvement exposure.
Skills
- Preferred Skills:
- ASQ or CQE certification or equivalent experience.
- Proficient in measurement, inspection and testing methods, calibration.
- DOD- familiarity with government contracts.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance in relevant industries (e.g., FDA, AS9100, IATF 16949).
