About the role

This Quality Engineer role focuses on driving product and process quality within injection molding operations and packaging manufacturing. The position plays a key role in developing and maintaining core quality documentation, leading non-conformance investigations, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. You will collaborate closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to support new mold ramp-ups and new product introductions while ensuring robust quality control across all operations.

Responsibilities

  • Drive product and process quality across injection molding and packaging manufacturing operations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain FMEAs, Control Plans, inspection procedures, and other quality documentation.
  • Lead non-conformance investigations using PDCA, 5 Whys, and other root-cause analysis methodologies.
  • Monitor and analyze quality metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives within manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct audits and participate in investigation and analysis activities to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Support new mold ramp-ups and new product introductions by establishing appropriate quality controls and documentation.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of quality control processes and procedures.
  • Ensure that quality engineering practices align with lean manufacturing principles and proven execution standards.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in quality manufacturing, including exposure to investigation and manufacturing engineering (ME).
  • Hands-on experience in quality engineering within manufacturing environments.
  • Strong knowledge of root cause analysis techniques, including PDCA and 5 Whys.
  • Experience in quality control and quality engineering practices.
  • Lean Manufacturing knowledge with proven execution in a production setting.
  • Ability to develop and maintain FMEAs, Control Plans, and inspection procedures.
  • Experience with continuous improvement initiatives in manufacturing.
  • Ability to perform audits, investigations, and detailed analysis of quality issues.

Preferred skills

  • Experience in injection molding operations or related manufacturing processes.
  • Background in packaging manufacturing environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured approach to investigation.
  • Ability to create and maintain comprehensive quality documentation.
  • Comfort working cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and quality teams.
  • Interest in contributing to the build-out of new manufacturing departments and capabilities.
  • Ability to work in a growing team within a large, well-funded organization.

Work environment

The current plant is a high-volume packaging facility with approximately 700 employees, focused solely on packing operations. The organization is investing in a new plant that will house all stages of manufacturing, including a dedicated molding activity department scheduled to be built out by 2027. You will work in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment with strong backing and the opportunity to help shape new manufacturing capabilities and quality processes as the facility expands.

Pay & benefits

  • Pay range: $40.38 – $50.48/hr
