About the role

The Quality Engineer will oversee and enhance our Quality Management System to meet customer expectations and comply with ISO9001. This role requires attention to detail to identify process flaws, effective multitasking, and the ability to perform under pressure in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities

• Provide site QC leadership and support for internal and external conformance audits, including ISO9000 compliance and plant audit support.
• Design, implement, and support quality control plans, procedures, and inspection systems to ensure quality standards and specifications are met.
• Oversee quality control of products through the value stream, serving as the quality representative for inspection, QA holds, A3s, CAPAs, and production meetings.
• Enhance teamwork by encouraging communication, involvement, and empowerment of cross-functional team members.
• Perform data analysis, identify trends, and recommend improvements to achieve KPI targets and goals.
• Troubleshoot problems, provide technical support, and facilitate corrective actions to resolve quality issues.
• Lead customer material returns and internal rejects, ensuring proper Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) using methods like Root Cause Analysis, 8D, and customer response support.
• Support Continuous Improvement projects and Kaizen events from a quality perspective, including project charters, payback calculations, and KPI impact assessments.
• Develop and monitor supplier quality, including conducting supplier quality audits.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Aerospace, Materials, Biomedical) from an accredited university.
• At least 3 years of experience in Quality (2 years may be in an equivalent field or working cross-functionally with Quality in a manufacturing environment).
• ISO9001/AS9100 Auditor Certification preferred.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred.
• Track record of implementation and maintenance of Quality Management Systems (QMS).
• Proficiency in quality management systems such as ISO 9001 (AS9100 preferred) and solid understanding of QMS principles.
• Strong analytical skills to assess data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
• Aptitude in using statistical tools to analyze quality metrics and drive process improvements.
• Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and standards; ability to stay updated on changes to ensure compliance.
• Firm understanding of GD&T (datum schemes and tolerancing of products & gauging) preferred.
• Strong MS Office skills.
• Robust time-management skills.
• Travel up to 15%.
