Quality Control Technician / Specialist (Temporary)

Responsibilities

  • Analyze technical data and prepare summaries and reports.
  • Perform data forensics by identifying missing or incomplete information within inspection records and related project documentation.
  • Investigate relationships between technical documents to ensure complete and traceable documentation.
  • Review and cross-reference procedures, inspection records, and technical documentation against applicable codes and project requirements.
  • Verify compliance with applicable industry standards and document any discrepancies or nonconformances.
  • Support quality assurance efforts by maintaining organized records and ensuring documentation accuracy.
  • Collaborate with engineering and project personnel to resolve documentation issues and obtain missing information.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications: Associate's degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Quality Assurance, or a related technical field; equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • Experience working with engineering, construction, quality control, or inspection documentation.
  • Ability to analyze technical information and identify inconsistencies or missing data.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with weld inspection documentation or structural steel quality control, familiarity with structural engineering drawings and specifications, knowledge of applicable codes and standards, including IBC 2018, AISC 360-16, AISC 341-16, experience performing documentation audits or quality record reviews, AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or similar quality certification.

Additional Information

  • This is a temporary assignment expected to last approximately 3 to 6 months.
  • There is little or no anticipated opportunity for extension or permanent employment.
  • This position is ideal for candidates with quality control, weld inspection, structural engineering, or technical data management experience who enjoy working with engineering documentation and ensuring accuracy and compliance.
