Overview
The QA Inspector ensures constant quality monitoring during production. Responsible for maintaining continuous product quality during production and guiding workflow by monitoring packaging work force’s quality inspections and packaging process. Performs quality inspections at regularly prescribed intervals and documents accordingly across multiple production lines. Helps employees in the department perform their duties correctly. Helps team operate at or above designated run speeds.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities
- Perform and document hourly inspections and run profile, retain samples per EverTec Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain quality monitoring during production and guide workflow.
- Monitor mailer production, including packaging, for defects and inaccuracies per EverTec quality standards; correct and report any non-conformities and initiate hold procedure when needed in collaboration with Team Lead and Shift Supervisor as needed.
- Train Packers on EverTec Quality Assurance (QA) SOP; regularly conduct audits to ensure quality inspections are being performed.
- Work with Packaging Team Lead and Operations to resolve issues per EverTec QA SOPs.
- Communicate effectively with upcoming shift to ensure smooth handoff; keep open dialogue with staff to minimize delays.
- Help to identify raw material defects, captures relevant information (lot codes, samples, etc.) and forward to Quality Manager.
Competency (Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities)
- Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing (Spanish bilingual a plus).
- Knowledgeable of safety requirements and guidelines in manufacturing/warehouse environment.
- Ability to follow standardized work instructions.
- Ability to understand detailed written and/or oral instructions.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Ability to read a ruler, scale, and micrometer.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on quality.
- Ability to work Overtime as needed daily, or weekends based upon business needs.
Education And Experience
- High school education or equivalent technical school preferred.
- 1 to 3 years’ experience in a Manufacturing environment and/or inspection role preferred.
- Knowledge of packaging production SOPs and Quality Standards a plus.
