Quality Control Technician

Your responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for quality lab in the operation, advanced programming, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair of quality lab inspection equipment and repair/calibration of inline measuring and gauging equipment.
  • Maximize production efficiencies in producing a zero-defect high-quality product.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by complying with all safety and environmental policies in the workplace.
  • Advocate for and promote a safe work environment by reporting near misses and/or other safety and environmental hazards, wearing all required PPE, and encouraging others to do the same.
  • Diagnose quality lab measuring and inspection equipment problems, inline production measuring and gauging equipment problems, suggest appropriate solutions, implement corrective actions, and confirm continued effectiveness of repair.
  • Perform calibration and preventive maintenance on new and existing gauge equipment.
  • Equipment responsibilities include SPC, Marposs, Heidenhain, Nokra, Kistler, Adcole, HBM, Rohmann, and IBG.
  • Accurately document incoming inspection of components, understand and apply control plans and product requirement specifications, write advanced inspection programs, and adhere to work instructions and procedures.
  • Perform and document static, dynamic, and press-in/off testing of camshafts, lobe center daily cut-up pieces, and cleanliness sample tests according to control plan requirements.
  • Develop and maintain an in-process gauge database (Gauge Track), monitor calibrations and maintenance records with software database.
  • Stop processes to correct quality, safety, or environmental problems, place suspect product on quality hold, and promptly notify supervisory personnel when processes become noncompliant.
  • Perform additional inspection steps necessary to ensure product quality when processes become noncompliant.

Requirements

To perform this job successfully, a successful candidate will be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education: An Associate’s degree in technical field or two (2) years equivalent technical experience and or training with measuring, inline gauging and test equipment is preferred. Language: Ability to read and interpret drawings. Knowledge of quality tools and activities. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Technology: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office and Internet software; Preferred knowledge and experience with CIMplify and SAP; QS Stat, Use of GAGETrak, MINITAB and Q-DAS. Equipment includes, but is not limited to Siemens PLC’s and automated production environments, Marposs and Nokra Laser Gauges.

Qualifications
