About the role

MGM Products is seeking a Quality Control Technician to join our team in Conyers, GA. This is a hands-on manufacturing Quality position where you will spend a significant portion of your day inspecting fabricated products and assemblies.

Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming, in-process, first-article, and final inspections of fabricated products and assemblies.
  • Review drawings, specifications, work instructions, and inspection requirements before making quality decisions.
  • Verify product dimensions, workmanship, appearance, and overall conformity to requirements.
  • Use measurement tools such as tape measures, squares, calipers, gauges, and other inspection equipment as required.
  • Document inspection results accurately and maintain complete, organized, and traceable quality records.
  • Identify, document, and control nonconforming product.
  • Support investigations into defects and nonconformances.
  • Aid in root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Work directly with Production to identify quality concerns early and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Follow established ISO 9001 procedures and Quality Management System requirements.
  • Support internal audits, customer audits, and third-party audit readiness.
  • Assist with calibration, inspection records, quality documentation, and other QMS activities as needed.
  • Learn and use quality management software for inspections, nonconformances, corrective actions, and recordkeeping.
  • Maintain professionalism and represent the Quality department with integrity in all interactions.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of products and assemblies to verify compliance with specifications and quality standards.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of quality control processes and support improvements within assigned areas.

Qualifications

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1–3 years of experience in manufacturing, inspection, quality control, or a related environment preferred.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in any of the following is a plus:
  • Manufacturing Quality Control
  • Sheet metal or fabricated product inspection
  • Reading mechanical or fabrication drawings
  • Understanding dimensions and tolerances
  • Tape measures, squares, calipers, micrometers, gauges, or similar inspection tools
  • First-article or in-process inspection
  • Nonconformance documentation
  • Root cause analysis or corrective action
  • ISO 9001 or another formal Quality Management System
  • Internal auditing
  • Quality management or ERP software

We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented and naturally notices inconsistencies or defects, dependable and able to work with limited supervision after training, comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environment, technically minded and willing to learn how products are designed and manufactured, able to follow detailed instructions, drawings, specifications, and established processes, organized and capable of maintaining accurate and reliable documentation, comfortable asking questions when requirements are unclear, able to communicate quality concerns clearly and professionally with operators, supervisors, and management, willing to make the right quality decision even when it may be inconvenient, proactive, curious, and interested in continuous improvement, and looking for an opportunity to grow and develop a long-term career in Quality.
