Quality Control Technician
Job Summary
To ensure the quality of components and materials by performing detailed inspections, using specific equipment and procedures as instructed by the QC lead.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Provide detailed in-process and final inspections on components and materials
- Use detailed drawings, CAD models, and established processes to verify conformance to manufacturing and design requirements
- Ensure company policies and procedures are followed for the receiving, production, and storage of all items and materials
- Report all non-conformance (NC) by means of defined company procedures, to the production planning office, the purchasing department, and engineering
- Implement authorization for use of NC items under approved exception
- Maintain calibration of quality control equipment or ensuring test equipment is calibrated and working correctly
- Perform inspections across all stages of production

- Verbal and written communication proficiency
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Familiar with Geometrical Dimensional Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Proficient in use of inspection equipment (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc)
Work Environment
This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to feel; reach with hand and arms, and stoop, kneel or crouch. Constant standing throughout the shift is required. Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision requirements include the ability to see at close range, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Preferred Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED. Engineering and/or technical degree a plus.
