About the role

The QC Laboratory Technician plays a key role in ensuring product quality and regulatory compliance by inspecting materials, monitoring processes, and conducting laboratory testing. This position offers exposure to both quality control and quality assurance in a smaller, collaborative environment where you can take on diverse responsibilities and contribute directly to product integrity and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect materials, monitor production processes, and conduct testing to ensure compliance with internal quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform testing on production batches, raw materials, and components to verify that they meet established quality specifications.
  • Conduct microbiological testing on finished products and finished bulk materials to ensure safety and quality.
  • Remove dye from the dye room for batches and maintain accurate documentation related to dye usage and batch records.
  • Run appropriate tests on products in response to customer complaints and provide clear, timely findings to the customer service team.
  • Calibrate scales on a monthly basis and document calibration activities to maintain measurement accuracy.
  • Assist formulators as needed in making batches and support formulation activities to ensure consistent product quality.
  • Receive and organize ordered supplies for the laboratory, ensuring materials are properly stored and available for use.
  • Audit dyes and fragrance inventory and update Safety Data Sheets as appropriate to maintain accurate and compliant records.
  • Record oven temperatures on a semi-monthly basis to verify that equipment operates within required parameters.
  • Refill bleach solution bottles in the batch-making area and ensure proper labeling and handling.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and laboratory protocols, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support quality control and quality assurance functions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a laboratory setting, OR an associate degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related science field.
  • Interest in gaining exposure to both quality control and quality assurance within a smaller company environment.

Work Environment

This role follows an 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. schedule, Monday through Friday, with training initially conducted on a typical first shift. The position involves working in both a laboratory and a clean room/manufacturing setting, providing hands-on exposure to production processes and quality testing.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00 per hour.

This is a Contract to Hire, fully onsite position based in Saint Paul, MN.
