About the role

The QC Technician operates the QC Central Reference and Sample Storage (CRSS) area and is responsible for assisting with (or performing) various QC functions within the Quality Control group.

  • Operate and maintain the QC Central Reference and Sample Storage (CRSS) area.
  • Maintain the calibration program for laboratory equipment (pipets, UV/VIS Spectrophotometers, etc.).
  • Order and scrap reagents in SAP to support laboratory operations.
  • Coordinate QC-related paperwork flow by copying, distributing, and filing analysis reports, SOPs, and other written documents.
  • Maintain data entry into established department databases for tracking and status reports.
  • Compose and revise SOPs under the direction of the Supervisor.
  • Adhere to plant safety programs and GMP or other regulations.
  • Participate in collecting and assembling data for reviews and reports.
  • Perform special assignments as directed by supervisor.
  • Utilize SAP to order materials supporting laboratory operations.
  • Perform routine inventory audits of materials associated with the CRSS area.
  • Participate in (Tech I) or lead and coordinate (Tech II) CRSS-related projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in general laboratory maintenance activities, including restocking supplies (Tech II).
  • Assist in laboratory instrumentation backup processes and verifications (Tech II).

Requirements

QC Technician I:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Associates Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related field preferred.
  • Laboratory experience desired.
  • Basic knowledge of analytical methods and equipment.
  • Microsoft Word and Excel required.
  • Manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude desired.
  • Ability to communicate findings effectively in written and oral form.
  • Self-motivated with strong communication, human relation skills, and ability to schedule, prioritize, and organize time.
  • Ability to work in a team setting and support project teams as a Quality Unit representative.
  • Independently troubleshoot and resolve routine CRSS-related laboratory issues.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to CRSS processes and procedural deficiencies.

QC Technician II:

  • Associates Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related field required (or two years of university credits in the trade sciences).
  • 4 years of related experience in lieu of a degree; minimum 2 years of related experience required (with degree).
  • Basic knowledge of analytical methods and equipment.
  • Microsoft Word and Excel required.
  • Manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude desired.
  • Specialized knowledge acquired through education and/or work experience.
  • Ability to communicate findings effectively in written and oral form.
  • Self-motivated with strong communication, human relation skills, and ability to schedule, prioritize, and organize time.
  • Ability to work in a team setting and support project teams as a Quality Unit representative.
  • Lead and coordinate CRSS-related projects and continuous process improvement initiatives.

Pay

  • QC Technician I: $25.93 – $30.50 per hour, with opportunities for growth, promotion, and annual raises.
  • QC Technician II: $28.81 – $33.89 per hour, with opportunities for growth, promotion, and annual raises.

Schedule

Full-time, on-site in Spokane, WA. Shift: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.
