Key Responsibilities
- Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections on valves and associated components to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Verify that assembly processes follow engineering drawings, work instructions, and customer specifications.
- Inspect all finished valves for proper functionality, appearance, and completeness before they are sent for final approval or shipment.
- Utilize various measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.) to confirm that valve dimensions fall within acceptable tolerances.
- Carry out functional testing on assembled valves to verify their performance under various conditions.
- Test for pressure integrity, leakage, and other performance parameters based on product specifications.
- Record inspection results and document any deviations from quality standards.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date inspection logs, reports, and records in compliance with company standards.
- Provide feedback and reports to supervisors, engineering, and production teams about quality issues or non-conformances.
- Identify and document defects or quality issues in assembled products.
- Work closely with the production and engineering teams to investigate root causes of quality issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor rework or correction processes to ensure defects are adequately addressed.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by providing feedback on quality issues, suggesting corrective measures, and identifying areas for process improvement.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or equivalent (an associate’s degree or a technical certification is a plus).
- Proven experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment, preferably as an inspector or quality control professional.
- A strong understanding of assembly processes, quality standards, and manufacturing procedures.
- The ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Proficiency in using inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other measuring instruments.
- A strong attention to detail and the ability to identify discrepancies or defects in products.
- Experience with ISO or other quality management systems.
- The ability to communicate openly in a team environment in a professional manner.
- Knowledge of automated inspection systems and equipment.
