Quality Control Officer - Operations Shared Services
About the role
This position is 100% remote within the Bank's footprint. The Quality Control Officer ensures a safe, well-controlled environment by independently reviewing controls, verifying transaction accuracy, and reducing risks such as fraud and regulatory violations. The role oversees internal control testing, identifies deficiencies, and partners with business lines to drive remediation and process improvements. Responsibilities include analyzing data for anomalies, maintaining documentation, and collaborating with leaders to enhance automation, scalability, and efficiency in a fast-paced, highly regulated setting.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Responsibilities
- Serves as an agent of change, finding new opportunities to serve clients and bring new capabilities to the market.
- Assists with training and guidance to team members regarding workload management.
- Assists in developing and implementing operational plans, policies, procedures, and goals to enhance scalability, automation, and efficiency.
- Collaborates with key leaders and stakeholders to drive change for scalability and automation.
- Fosters strong relationships with leaders and stakeholders across the bank to ensure collaboration and effective communication.
- Attends meetings and partnership engagements with other business lines.
- Assists in maintaining policies, SOX control documentation, risk assessments, and other controls for assigned areas.
- Assists in resolving complex issues within areas of responsibility.
- Documents process flows for assigned systems and pursues areas of improvement.
- Assists in maintaining a repository of procedures, processes, job aids, and critical information for functional areas.
- Drives the effective use of technology within functional areas.
- Manages customer service level expectations and key vendor processing timelines.
- Collaborates with business areas on new initiatives, processes, or products and assists with implementation.
- Assists in testing and validating operational controls to ensure proper design and functionality.
- Collaborates with process owners to understand control processes and identify areas for improvement.
- Documents control testing results and maintains accurate records.
- Supports the identification and escalation of control deficiencies.
- Participates in control monitoring activities and tracks remediation efforts.
- Assists in preparing reports summarizing control effectiveness for management review.
- Completes audits to review data for anomalies.
- Supports audit and regulatory examination activities by providing documentation and explanations.
- Works with the Data Governance Team to identify system data issues and collaborates with business lines to correct them.
- Completes process reviews to identify points of failure and recommend improvements.
- Acts as the data steward for assigned areas and systems.
- Uses technology and tools to enhance control testing and documentation efficiency.
- Recommends process improvements and automation opportunities to strengthen the control environment.
Requirements
- Banking is a highly regulated industry; proficiency in the Bank's policies and procedures and adherence to all applicable laws, rules, and regulations is required.
- Completion of all assigned compliance training in a timely manner.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience required.
- Minimum of three years of experience in banking, preferably in operations.
