About the Client

One of the top General Contractors in St. Louis is looking to hire a Quality Assurance/Control (QA/QC) Manager for a large federal project. This project is 2 years long and located in downtown St. Louis.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the project-specific CQC Plan, including the QC organization, Definable Features of Work (DFOW), testing plan/log, submittal controls, and required documentation.
  • Manage and document the USACE Three-Phase Control process—Preparatory, Initial, and Follow-Up—for each DFOW; conduct QC meetings and coordinate Government, subcontractor, testing laboratory, and special-inspection participation.
  • Review drawings, specifications, submittals, shop drawings, product data, and RFIs for compliance; verify approved materials and installations before work proceeds.
  • Coordinate and verify required inspections and tests, review results, track deficiencies/rework, stop or reject nonconforming work, and confirm corrective action before successor activities advance.
  • Prepare and sign daily CQC Reports; maintain complete on-site/off-site QC records, test reports, meeting minutes, deficiency lists, punch lists, and current as-built drawings in RMS/QCS or required Government systems.
  • Lead punch-out, pre-final, and final inspections; certify completion and ensure all outstanding deficiencies, closeout documents, and as-built records are resolved.
  • Work effectively with the Project Superintendent, Project Manager, SSHO, subcontractors, Government QA/COR personnel, and design/testing professionals while maintaining the QC Manager's independent reporting relationship.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of construction experience
  • Minimum 2 years of QA/QC Manager experience
  • CQM-C Certification (or ability to obtain after hire)
  • Experience with federal projects preferred, not required
  • Experience with quality control processes in the construction industry
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to analyze and interpret technical documents and specifications
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and industry compliance standards
  • Proven problem-solving skills and ability to implement effective solutions
