Quality Control Manager - Heavy Civil/Highway Construction

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage the QA/QC management system at the project site.
• Maintain project documentation and review and develop submittals.
• Ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and approved quality control plans.
• Oversee testing methods and inspect construction work, including concrete, soils, welding, and maintenance of traffic.
• Actively participate in project safety programs.
• Assist project QC staff and project supervision.
• Work toward obtaining required testing certifications.
• Communicate effectively with project owners and represent the company during inspections.
• Monitor implementation of the approved site QC Plan.
• Coordinate with the site construction manager on all quality-related issues.
• Coordinate and lead weekly QA/QC site meetings with subcontractor QC personnel.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Maintain effective communication and organization throughout the project.

Qualifications

• Experience in the inspection and testing of various construction disciplines, including concrete, soils, welding, or maintenance of traffic.
• Construction industry experience, including at least one internship with a heavy civil, foundation, or steel erection contractor, or equivalent work experience.
• ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade I certification with 5 years of experience.
• ACI Concrete Laboratory Testing Technician - Grade I certification with 5 years of experience.
• ICC Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector certification.
• ACI Concrete Construction Special Inspector certification.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Ability to adapt quickly to new challenges and changing project requirements.
• Willingness and ability to travel or relocate as necessary for projects.
• Availability to work day or night shifts based on project needs.
