Quality Control Manager

About the Role
Zing Recruiting is seeking an experienced Quality Control Manager for an established batch manufacturing operation in the Round Lake Park/Liberville, IL area. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who knows how to keep quality, production, and people moving in the right direction. You'll lead a team of approximately 5 Quality Technicians while overseeing quality throughout the manufacturing process, from incoming raw materials through in-process production and finished goods.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and manage the Quality Control team
- Oversee testing of raw materials, in-process batches, and finished products
- Lead CAPA investigations and corrective actions
- Investigate and resolve non-conformances
- Partner closely with Production, Operations, Planning, Logistics, Purchasing, and Customer Service
- Schedule and prioritize daily, weekly, and annual QC activities
- Support internal and external quality audits
- Coordinate preventative maintenance activities
- Handle customer complaints and quality-related communications
- Conduct product assessments and odor evaluations as needed
- Maintain GMP compliance and safe manufacturing practices
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of expired materials and products
- Support sample production and quality validation activities
- Occasionally travel between nearby facilities, approximately 15 minutes apart
Requirements
- 4-6+ years of Quality Control experience within a manufacturing environment
- Batch manufacturing experience required
- Previous Quality Control supervisory or management experience
- Experience with GMP-regulated manufacturing
- Hands-on experience with CAPA and non-conformance investigations
- Strong understanding of raw material, in-process, and finished product quality
- High School Diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred

- Ability to work effectively with manufacturing and production teams

Pay
$70,000-$85,000 annually, based on experience
