Quality Control Manager
About the Role
Tremco Construction Products Group brings together multiple divisions and brands under one umbrella, operating 21 manufacturing facilities, 6 distribution sites, and 3 R&D/technology sites across North America. The Quality Manager ensures the Quality Process effectively meets key business metrics and satisfies all customer product requirements. This role focuses on Quality, Lean and Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement, with responsibility for ISO quality systems and compliance.

Responsibilities
- Oversee all quality-related functions in the plant.
- Act as primary plant liaison with customers to address processing issues.
- Participate in developing specifications for processing, products, and materials.
- Work directly with Corporate and local Purchasing on vendor quality or supply issues; assist with vendor selection and qualification.
- Manage ISO Quality systems.
- Lead Lean/Six Sigma initiatives in the plant.
- Respond to and report on customer complaints, including root cause investigation, corrective action implementation, and follow-up.
- Interact professionally and timely with customers and the sales force, both verbally and in writing.
- Develop quality standards for raw materials and finished products.
- Oversee all lab functions and personnel, ensuring safety and integrity of operations.
- Test raw materials and finished products as required.
- Implement material cost-saving plans where appropriate.
- Participate in annual budget planning.
- Assist in compliance activities, especially Hazcom and maintaining the SDS system.
- Handle other projects/tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Degree in Quality, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials, Polymer, or Business. Bachelor’s degree in engineering or quality preferred.
- Four to seven years of related experience and/or training.
- ISO certification preferred.
Skills
- ISO knowledge (required).
- Six Sigma / Lean Thinking (required).
- Training experience (preferred).
- Rubber chemistry background (preferred).
- Extrusions knowledge (preferred).
- Strong communication skills (written, verbal).
- Confidentiality.
- Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (SAP).
- Solid computer skills (Word, Excel, Lotus Notes).
- Team player.
Physical Demands
Incumbent must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb, balance, kneel, talk, hear, and lift up to 50 lbs.
