About the role
The Quality Control Manager is responsible for ensuring that all work adheres to ECC's Quality Control Program, design specifications, contract requirements, and relevant codes and standards. They also promote and support the safety program with subcontractors and the project team.
Responsibilities
- Take action to ensure work complies with ECC Quality Control Program, design, contract specifications, building codes, and national/local standards
- Work to actively promote and support the safety program with subcontractors and project team members
- Implement the Three-Phase Control Process according to company standards and contract requirements
- Facilitate QC meetings and document meeting minutes
- Ensure the appropriate and required testing program is implemented; evaluate, review, monitor, and document results
- Inspect and document material receipt to ensure compliance with contract documents
- Process submittals to ensure they meet project requirements and are submitted in a timely manner
- Author quality-related documentation, including reports, logs, and records, in a timely and accurate manner
- Log Requests for Information (RFIs)
- Ensure implementation, documentation, and close-out of corrective actions
- Initiate stop work or rework in coordination with the project team for non-conformance to prescribed work methodologies
- Manage efforts to close out the project in a timely manner
- Communicate in written and oral formats with diplomacy and tact
- Exercise independent thinking and reasoning
- Teach quality concepts and requirements to others
- Lead subcontractors and project teams in support of quality endeavors
- Use Microsoft Office products, email systems, and Windows
- Possess a Construction Quality Management (CQM) for Contractor’s certificate or be able to obtain one within 60 days
- Have five (5) years of work experience in a position directly related to construction with two (2) years of experience as a Quality Control Manager
- Be able to travel to project locations with periodic home travel with project management approval
- Have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Building Construction, or Building Science, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Have five (5) years of Quality Control experience
- Have ten (10) years of Construction experience
- Successfully work in a dotted line reporting structure
- Be familiar with workplace health and safety concepts
- Have applicable certification in Quality
- Have proven ability to use USACE Resident Management System (RMS)
- Have OSHA 30 Hour Construction Certification
- Have First Aid and CPR Certification
- Have ACI Certification
- Have prior experience with Federal Government DoD construction projects
