Job Summary The Quality Manager is a hands-on leader responsible for driving quality excellence across manufacturing, laboratory, warehouse, and office operations. This position provides strategic direction and day-to-day leadership for all quality initiatives, ensuring products consistently meet customer expectations, regulatory requirements, and company standards. The Quality Manager develops, implements, and continuously improves the Quality Management System (QMS), maintains ISO certifications, and actively partners with Operations, Engineering, R&D, and Supply Chain teams to improve product quality, process capability, and operational performance. This role requires a strong presence on the production floor, in the laboratory, and within warehouse operations to support problem solving, process improvement, and employee development while fostering a culture of quality ownership throughout the facility. Duties And Responsibilities Plant Quality Leadership Provide visible, hands-on leadership of the plant Quality Management System and quality programs.Establish clear quality expectations and accountability throughout manufacturing, laboratory, and warehouse operations.Spend significant time on the production floor and in the laboratory coaching employees, monitoring quality performance, and identifying opportunities for improvement.Ensure compliance with company standards, customer requirements, ISO standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.Champion the Carlisle Operating System (COS), Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies to drive operational excellence. Raw Material, Production, and Finished Goods Quality Oversee inspection and qualification activities to ensure incoming raw materials meet established specifications.Partner directly with Operations personnel to evaluate process performance and ensure adherence to product specifications.Develop, maintain, and continuously improve production process specifications and quality standards.Establish and maintain finished goods grading and release criteria to ensure consistent product quality.Participate in product evaluations, inspections, and investigations as needed to support quality objectives. Quality Systems and Continuous Improvement Lead the development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System.Maintain ISO certifications and ensure ongoing compliance with certification requirements.Analyze audit findings, customer complaints, warranty trends, scrap data, and process performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities.Drive corrective and preventive action initiatives and verify effectiveness of implemented solutions.Lead cross-functional improvement projects focused on reducing variation, improving yield, and enhancing customer satisfaction. Leadership and Team Development Lead, develop, and mentor quality personnel, technicians, and technical resources to build a high-performing quality organization.Establish department goals, monitor performance, and provide regular coaching, training, and performance feedback.Actively participate in recruiting, onboarding, employee development, succession planning, and performance management activities.Promote employee engagement and foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.Manage departmental budgets and resources to support business objectives effectively. Problem Solving and Process Improvement Lead hands-on root cause investigations involving product defects, customer complaints, process failures, scrap, and nonconforming material.Facilitate problem-solving activities using structured methodologies such as 8D, DMAIC, A3, and corrective action processes.Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and R&D to implement sustainable solutions and improve process capability.Verify effectiveness of corrective actions and monitor long-term performance improvements. Audits, Compliance, and Technical Support Lead all internal, customer, and third-party quality audits.Ensure document control systems and quality records are accurate, maintained, and compliant with QMS requirements.Serve as the primary quality technical liaison between the facility and Corporate Quality, R&D, and customer stakeholders.Collaborate with plant leadership to prioritize quality initiatives and validate process improvements.Support customer visits, quality reviews, and corrective action responses as needed. Eight (8) years of progressively responsible processing experience, quality techniques, and supervision of technical personnel. Working Conditions Time is to be split equally between an office setting, work in the manufacturing plant, and in a Quality lab.Exposure to loud noise levels in the manufacturing plant (PPE Provided). The position typically operates during standard business hours of Monday – Friday (8am – 5pm), with regular flexibility required to accommodate touch points with all operating shifts. The employee is expected to comply with all company policies related to data security, confidentiality, and remote work standards. Periodic travel may be required for team meetings, training, or company events, with advance notice provided.
