Amerit Fleet Solutions, one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the US, is looking to hire a skilled Quality Control Manager in the St. Louis, MO area.
About the role
The Quality Control Manager inspects new vehicles that have been up-fitted by client vendors to ensure build specifications are followed and quality meets client expectations. Vendors are located in Kentucky, St. Louis, Kansas, Texas, and Indianapolis. This role involves 25-30% travel between these areas.
Responsibilities
- Perform a final pre-ship quality inspection prior to a new vehicle leaving an upfitter for delivery.
- Inspect new production pilot vehicles at the upfitter to finalize requirements with the client’s Vehicle Acquisitions and the upfitter before the build commences.
- Work with the upfitter to ensure that the completed vehicle meets quality expectations.
- Inspect new vehicles in the field after delivery to assist in resolving any quality issues with the client.
- Work with the upfitter to assist in the implementation of any field warranty fixes.
- Conduct field inspections of in-operation vehicles to determine performance.
- Provide an exceptions report immediately after inspections so the upfitter can make corrections prior to shipment.
- Submit a weekly inspection report and scorecard.
- Generate reports of pilot production inspections and quality concern inspections.
Requirements
- At least 3-5 years’ experience performing vehicle maintenance.
- Previous upfitter experience or quality control in a manufacturing setting is ideal.
- Ability to follow instructions and complete required training.
- Strong computer skills.
- High-level customer service.
- Basic written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.).
- Willing to travel 25-30% of the time.
Working Conditions
- Exposure to heavy traffic areas while performing job duties.
- Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes, and noise.
- Exposure to chemicals, oils, greases, or other irritants.
- Ability to move and position heavy objects.
- Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, and crawl to repair vehicles.
- Ability to work outside in various weather conditions.
Pay
Competitive salary range of $70,000–80,000 depending on experience, paid weekly every Friday.
