Quality Control Manager

About the Role

The Quality Control Manager provides management oversight of AFM Quantico Quality Control Program services performed in support of a high-security Federal Government installation. This position ensures compliance with contract specifications and applicable regulations. A high degree of professionalism, excellent communications, judgment, and attention to detail is required due to the sensitive nature of the installation and operations. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise, analytic and organizational skills with a disciplined approach to documentation and quality assurance in a highly regulated, mission-critical environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all services listed on the performance requirement summary are performed satisfactorily, specifying areas for inspection (scheduled and unscheduled).
• Direct the frequency of inspections to maintain overall inspection goals.
• Communicate deficiencies to proper personnel and maintain the computerized FIT Preventive Maintenance Program and all Quality Control files.
• Lead the QC Inspection Team, assign tasks, and ensure overall team performance.
• Serve as the primary interface for all Quality Control actions and documentation between AFM and Government personnel.
• Manage quality control and assurance for trade preventive maintenance activities and Work Orders.
• Manage planned and active preventive maintenance tasks in the FIT system to ensure timely completion.
• Develop inspection requirement summaries and inspection guides based on the PWS and internal standards.
• Schedule and conduct frequent Preventive Maintenance and Independent Job Order (IJO) inspections.
• Support Quality Control refresher training, cross-training, and skills sustainment.
• Review, maintain, and deliver all required contract deliverables to the Government accurately and on time.
• Process findings and provide recommendations for deficiencies.
• Review and evaluate Government requests for additional or modified Quality Control services.
• Perform audits and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
• Conduct surveillance inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
• Maintain accurate QC and QA data records.
• Conduct follow-ups on deficiencies to ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Prepare weekly and monthly inspection reports for submission to the Government, Program Manager, and Corporate Quality Manager.
• Maintain inspection records in the FIT Automated Quality Control System.
• Perform field inspections to verify quality criteria for repairs, materials, and finished work.
• Create and review standard operating procedures, work instructions, flow charts, and plans.
• Prepare correspondence as needed.
• Promote and observe safety and security procedures.
• Perform audits of operating logs, maintenance records, and operator performance.
• Verify compliance with SOPs, safety requirements, and government regulations.
• Identify trends, recurring deficiencies, and operational risks.
• Develop corrective actions and continuous improvement recommendations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Pay

$95,000 per year
