Quality Control Lab Technician I

About the role

This person is responsible for performing routine test procedures and reporting results. They must be able to use a computer for data entry and keep good records. They should be able to work with little supervision, safely and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Performs all work in a safe manner, knows and reviews both laboratory and plant safety rules.
• Adheres to all lab and plant safety rules.
• Maintains work accuracy at a high level in order to ensure the procedures are accurately followed and results properly recorded.
• Ensures that SOP’s (in particular tests and specifications), information systems, calibration programs, ISO requirements and company procedures are adequately implemented and maintained to ensure compliance with all company QMS requirements.
• Uses Microsoft Office.
• Uses time wisely in order to maintain a clean and safe environment, while still keeping up with normal workflow.
• Meets overtime requirements for the department.
• Is able to work with a minimum of Supervisor intervention yet uses good judgment as to when to involve a Supervisor on decisions.
• Expresses a good attitude by working with others, developing solid team performance, communicates clearly and effectively and meets organizational goals.
• Trains new employees in the day to day duties as requested.

Requirements

• 2 year degree in Engineering or Chemistry
• 5 years of prior Lab QC experience
• Ability to use Microsoft Office

Qualifications

• SAP experience is a plus
• Experience in general color testing and color application testing

• Strong computer, organizational, analytical, and mathematical abilities
• Strong communication skills
• Good time management skills
