Assists the Badger Mission and Principles as a member of the Quality team by performing incoming raw material sampling, testing, documentation, and investigating incoming ingredients, finished goods, and new products in a timely manner. Operates independently but partners with the Quality Control Supervisor for oversight and direction to ensure the Quality Control laboratory meets regulatory and internal standards.
Responsibilities
- Follow good document practices, good laboratory practices, and good manufacturing practices.
- Perform testing according to set protocols for:
- Incoming ingredients
- In-process samples and finished goods as required
- Stability samples as scheduled
- Compressed air and environmental monitoring as scheduled
- Cleaning validation and investigation swabbing as scheduled
- New products under development by RDI
- Perform and document onsite equipment calibrations of in-house equipment, daily, weekly, monthly.
- Follow procedures for investigation of deviations, non-conforming results, or out-of-specifications.
- Reviewer of documents in ETQ related to QC testing.
- Perform sampling and inspection of incoming raw materials, packaging, and componentry for onsite and offsite warehouses.
- Monitor process validation activities as scheduled or requested:
- Ensure required data is collected accurately and completely
- Verify adherence to validation protocols
- Conduct ANSI sampling or 100% inspections upon request to assist with:
- Deviations
- Containment activities
- High-risk production scenarios
- Ensure all safety standards and protocols are followed and make recommendations to help streamline processes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Schedule
- Must accommodate last-minute schedule adjustments, including requests to begin work as early as 6:00 a.m. or 7:00 a.m.
- Must demonstrate flexibility with short notice scheduling changes, particularly in response to team absences or operational needs.
- Must be available to begin work at 6:00 a.m. for planned vacation coverage or other pre-scheduled needs.
- Participation in a rotating Saturday schedule is required, as assigned and based on operational demands.
- Fully onsite with occasional weekend work required.
Pay
Starting pay $22.00 an hour.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology, or a related discipline is preferred OR a minimum of 1 year's experience in a Quality Control laboratory or equivalent setting.
- Experience working in a cGMP compliant facility.
- 1-2 years' experience analyzing results, predicting trends, and updating methodology.
Skills
- Strong computer skills required, including Windows Office, Outlook, Syspro, and other inventory control databases.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, manage time efficiently, and work seamlessly across all departments.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- Capacity to flourish in an environment of rapid change and high ambiguity.
- Ability to work well independently, think creatively, and be a constructive, helpful team member.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
