The Quality Control (QC) Inspector Lead performs activities associated with the sampling, inspection, testing, and examination of incoming materials, mixtures, in-process materials, finished products, and releases.
Schedule
- 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM, Monday - Friday
- 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM, Monday - Friday
Responsibilities
- Leads and inspires team members.
- Serves as the lead trainer and assessor for QC Inspector new hires, continuing certification, and process training.
- Verification of QC and Operations processes:
- Verifies AQL checks in Encapsulation, Powderfill, and Packaging.
- Performs QC verifications of Inventory status dispositions including NCMs.
- Acts as QC Champion on Incidents and Investigation reports.
- Implements process improvements.
- Participates in and/or leads QCI departmental meetings as needed.
- Conducts weekly audit walks.
- Supports and monitors cGMP activities throughout the process.
- Tracks QCI consumables and orders as needed.
- Is knowledgeable of QCI’s responsibilities, experience, education, competencies, and physical demands.
- Actively participates in required training, development programs, and electives, and supports colleagues, trainers, and management with these efforts.
- Promotes the Company’s Mission and Values, fostering an accountable, innovative, and results-oriented culture that emphasizes customer service, openness, teamwork, mutual trust, and respect.
- Holds turnover meetings with each shift to communicate follow-up items.
- Fills in for supervisor during meetings when the supervisor is unavailable.
- Covers supervisor duties when the supervisor is out of the office.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
- Successfully completed QC Inspector certification levels or previous experience as a lead in a manufacturing environment is required.
- Basic computer skills and Microsoft Office experience.
- Ability to use handheld calculators to perform basic math calculations and complete records accurately.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
