About the Company

Houston Precision Fasteners produces high strength, fatigue rated, close tolerance fasteners using materials such as carbon steel, alloy steel, nickel alloy, titanium, waspaloy, A-286, monel and multiphase. Our fasteners have supported mission aircraft such as Joint Strike Fighters, F/A 18 Super Hornet, and Falcon 9. We are dedicated to providing a superior product to our customers.

About the Role

Inspect machined parts or products for defects, damage, wear, and deviations from specifications in Final and In Process Inspection. May use precision measuring instruments and complex test equipment. Use computer systems to enter and log data. Able to perform inspections independently. Answer inspection questions on any parts submitted for source.

Responsibilities

  • Examine materials and final products, calculate tolerances and dimensions using hand tools, verify conformance to standards, read work orders, routers, and blueprints to determine product specifications as part of inspecting products and materials in process and in final inspection
  • Document and record quality inspection information
  • Evaluate information to determine whether parts and materials conform to regulations and standards
  • Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives
  • Analyze data or information
  • Establish and maintain interpersonal relationships
  • Evaluate information to determine compliance with standards

Due to nature of defense contracts, US Citizenship is a requirement. As part of our Drug and Alcohol Policy, employment will be conditional on passing a required drug test.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent, or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience
  • Basic knowledge of mathematics and applications
  • AS9100 experience
  • Basic knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance (e.g., Keyence inspection equipment, optical comparators, digital micrometers and calipers, gage pins, ring gages, dial indicators, concentricity gage, thread segments)
  • Basic knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints (including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing features), drawings, and models
  • Advanced knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) features

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, and stand for prolonged periods of time, climb steps and ladders
  • Must be able to work at heights utilizing fall protection equipment (man lifts, ladders, and stands)
  • Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs
  • Subject to environmental conditions: protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes
  • Subject to hazards including proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, exposure to high heat, or exposure to chemicals
  • Subject to loud constant noise
  • Subject to atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation
