Quality Control Inspector, Composites 1st Shift

Responsibilities

  • Perform receiving, in-process, and final physical inspections of parts, sub-assemblies, and final aircraft assemblies.
  • Verify physical characteristics, dimensions, and configurations against complex engineering drawings, specifications, CAD models, and work instructions.
  • Utilize standard mechanical inspection tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges, pins, and thread gauges) to ensure adherence to tight tolerances.
  • Identify, document, and segregate nonconforming materials; actively participate in the Material Review Board (MRB) process by initiating detailed defect reports.
  • Collaborate closely with Production and Quality Engineering teams to communicate quality issues and support root-cause investigations.
  • Maintain meticulous inspection records, traceability logs, and conformity documentation in accordance with FAA and internal QMS standards.
  • Support a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and strict compliance with aerospace quality requirements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 2 + years of hands-on quality inspection experience in a production environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
  • Proficiency using standard precision measuring equipment and hand tools.
  • Strong computer skills for navigating ERP/MES systems, documenting nonconformances, and logging inspection data.
  • Excellent attention to detail, communication skills, ethics and the ability to work effectively within a cross-functional team environment.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a heavily regulated manufacturing environment (e.g., Aerospace, Aviation, Defense, Medical Device).
  • Working knowledge of FAA Part 21 or Part 145 regulations and AS9100 / ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
  • Experience completing or verifying AS9102 First Article Inspections (FAI).
  • Active FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license.

Pay

The target base pay for this position is $20-$29 per hour. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
